Rules
First prize will be $1000.00; second prize will be $500.00; third
prize will be $250.00. Please note that prize money will be issued
by cheque in Canadian dollars. At the conclusion of the contest
selected entries will be compiled and published in a book to be
released in 2006.
The contest is open to anyone (from anywhere) 16 years of age and
older, except employees and immediate family members of the the
True Life Story Contest, and contest judges and their immediate
families.
You must use your real name on your entry submission, but for the
purposes of publication pseudonyms are permitted. Contestants must
agree to allow the True Life Story Contest to publish their stories,
names (or if requested a pseudonym), and biographical information.
Maximum entry length is 5000 words. Please include a 25 to 50 word
biographical sketch with each entry. Contestants may submit as many
stories as they want.
Stories must be original and unpublished up to the time the winners
are declared on March 31, 2007. Previously published material,
or material accepted elsewhere for publication, cannot be considered.
The True Life Story Contest reserves the right to edit stories
for punctuation and spelling.
The True Life Story Contest is not responsible for lost or corrupted
files.
All serial rights will remain with the author.
Manuscripts should be written on a computer using Notepad, or if
necessary a common word processing program such as Microsoft Word.
Please do not use Corel WordPerfect, Adobe FrameMaker, PageMaker,
or any graphic or magazine layout program such as Illustrator, Quark
Express, and so on.

No changes to stories are allowed after the True Life Story
Contest receives the manuscript. Manuscripts will not be returned.
Contestants will receive confirmation by email on receipt of their
manuscript.
Stories must be received by the True Life Story Contest no later
than midnight, March 31, 2007.
Winners will be notified by email, and their names posted on this
Web site.
The decision of the contest judges is final.
